This summer, prepare yourself for the heat with the top 5 accessories that you should bring or try as you lounge away in your glamorous summer escape!

1. SUNGLASSES

The classic cliche. It’s hot, the sun’s rays are strong and you can’t pose for a proper photo with your eyes always squinting! Time to put on sunglasses that frames your face properly.

But how do you know if it’s the right sunglasses for you? First of all, the lens (big or small) does not sit on your cheeks. It either covers it a little but does not touch it at all. Lenses that rest or touch the cheek makes your face look bigger in general, throwing off the balance of your visage. Next, the frame must rest on your ears without squeezing the sides of your face. Doing otherwise will make your head ache in the long run. Finally, the nose bridge part of the glasses, must rest at the nose bridge and nowhere else. Remember, your glasses will dictate where your eyes are at first sight. Droopy glasses means droopy eyes.

2. COVER UP

Choose a cover up that dries easily when wet, is light to the touch and is breezy (you will need this for the summer heat!). This way, you can go from beach to a restaurant in no time. I also suggest that you purchase cover ups that you can also use in other seasons. There are now available cover ups that looks like dresses and all you need is to wear basics underneath to complete the look. This definitely screams CLOSET MILEAGE.

3. RUBBER SANDALS

In choosing rubber sandals, make sure that it has ridges but underneath and at the top sole. This is to prevent you from slipping at the pool side or any smooth figure when you just came out of the water. The Y-strap is the most advisable as it gives a lot of room for air to come in, giving you faster drying time.

As much as possible, choose the type that the strap does not move as much in the bottom. This indicates that it will not easily break or pulled out while you are walking the hot sand of the beach.

4. THE BEACH BAG

They come in different colors, sizes, textures and even materials! (Straw, plastic, bubble, leather, synthetics etc. ) One tip in choosing your beach bag is to make sure that it’s at least stain and water resistant. This way, even after frolicking on the beaches or the chlorine treated pools, your bag will stay clean and crisp with just a few wipes.

5. THE ECO BAG

Being an Ecoista (Ecological Fashionista) is definitely in! Bring a fold able and reusable eco bag and place it inside your beach bag. This would be great for storing all of your wet bathing suits or other toiletries. It is also helpful in going around shopping malls near the beach area. You don’t have to carry several bags at the same time. You can put all of your precious items in one bag!
