Surviving the holidays and coming out debt free seems impossible but women manage to get through better than men because they’re bargain hunters. Men who are already in too deep after the holidays find it extremely difficult to pull off a great valentine evening. Valentines day doesn’t have to be the next big thing that lands you in debt; men need to learn to ignore the pressure of doing something huge that’s straight out of a beer commercial and find a simple way to make the evening memorable. Most women don’t care how much money was spent, what they care about is how great a day it was.
Cooking a meal
Dinner in a restaurant is something that can cost you anything between $80 to $250, and you still have to buy your wife a gift. The smarter and more romantic choice would be to cook dinner yourself. An obvious effort like that can melt any woman’s heart. What’s more you can eat in the comfort of your home and actually enjoy yourself as opposed to eating in an overcrowded restaurant and pretending to have a good time.
Celebrating all day
Most men think that Valentines Day starts at dinner time, women on the other hand would be willing to let it start a day early and go on an extra day or two. Instead of saving you affections for the end of the day, keep something going throughout the day. It doesn’t have to be big; you can fill your partner’s closet with big heart shaped balloons or pick her up from work and go for a cup of coffee.
A little something
You’ll realize that when you shower your wife with so much attention, the simplest gifts like Valentines Day gift baskets and Valentines Day fruit baskets will make her melt. Give her a nice fruit bouquet for dessert; it can be a collective present for both of you.
