First came stripes, with the ubiquitous Breton top dominating the summer months, next the polka dots championed by Marc Jacobs and Diane Von Furstenberg hit fashion headlines and then came avant garde geometrics with the success of Mary Katrantzou’s surreal, angular prints.
The latest pattern to add to the growing list is dogtooth (or houndstooth). Stella McCartney and Salvatore Ferragamo have all recently showed the print. Celebrity fans include Gwyneth Paltrow and Lady Gaga, who arrived at an American chat show decked out in dogtooth before jumping on a piano and stool also covered in the print to perform.
