Every woman experiences the menstrual cycle, which is basically the changes her body under goes to prepare it for a pregnancy. Factors like illnesses, weight change, stress, medications, poor nutrition and travel can affect the cycle and cause irregular menstruation. Disorders of the thyroid gland can also result in irregular periods.
